Synechiae (Asherman’s Syndrome)

Synechiae, or intrauterine adhesions, are bands of scar tissue that form within the uterus, often as a result of surgical procedures like dilation and curettage (D&C) or infections. In severe cases, this condition is known as Asherman’s Syndrome. Symptoms may include light or absent periods, infertility, or recurrent pregnancy loss. Treatment typically involves hysteroscopic surgery to remove the adhesions.
