Salpingectomy

Salpingectomy is the surgical removal of one or both fallopian tubes. This procedure is often performed to treat conditions such as ectopic pregnancy, hydrosalpinx, tubal infections, or as a preventive measure for individuals at high genetic risk for ovarian cancer. It may be done laparoscopically or through open surgery, and when performed bilaterally, it results in sterilization.
