Müllerian Duct

The Müllerian ducts are embryonic structures that develop into the female reproductive organs, including the fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, and the upper part of the vagina. Proper development of these ducts is essential for normal reproductive anatomy. Abnormalities in Müllerian duct formation can result in congenital conditions like a septate or bicornuate uterus, which may affect menstruation, fertility, or pregnancy outcomes. These anomalies are often diagnosed via ultrasound, MRI, or hysterosalpingography and may require surgical correction.
