Jaundice is a yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes caused by an excess of bilirubin in the blood. While more commonly associated with liver disease or newborns, jaundice can occasionally appear during pregnancy in rare conditions like intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). In such cases, it may signal liver dysfunction and requires medical evaluation.
