Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment in which specially prepared sperm is placed directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation. This procedure increases the chances of fertilization by bringing sperm closer to the egg. IUI is commonly used for couples with unexplained infertility, mild male factor infertility, or issues related to cervical mucus. It is a minimally invasive and relatively low-cost procedure that may be performed with or without fertility medications to stimulate ovulation.
