Curettage is a medical procedure that involves scraping the lining of a body cavity, most commonly the uterus, to remove tissue. This is frequently done after a miscarriage, to diagnose uterine conditions, or to treat abnormal uterine bleeding. The procedure is usually performed under anesthesia and may be combined with dilation (D&C).
