Endometriosis affects up to 10% of women of reproductive age worldwide — yet it remains underdiagnosed and often misunderstood across the great majority of women worldwide

The relentless cycle of pain—from crippling menstrual cramps to chronic pelvic discomfort—can leave you feeling trapped in your own body. Heavy bleeding can disrupt work and social life; pain during intimacy may strain relationships; and the fear of infertility can cast a shadow over your future plans.
If you’ve tried over-the-counter painkillers, heat pads, or alternative therapies without lasting improvement, it’s time for a definitive approach.

Whether you are based in Europe, the North America, Latin America, or elsewhere, our clinic welcomes patients globally who are searching for better solutions.

At our Valencia clinic, Dr. Lucas Minig and his multidisciplinary team bring together the latest in minimally invasive surgery (over 95% of procedures) with evidence-based medical management, nutritional guidance and psychological support. What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) grows in places it shouldn’t—most commonly on the ovaries (forming endometriomas, or “chocolate cysts”), the pelvic peritoneum, bowel, or bladder. Each month, these ectopic implants respond to hormonal cycles, bleeding internally, causing inflammation, scar tissue, and adhesions. Over time, this creates a persistent source of pain and can interfere with organ function and fertility.

Patients from around the world trust our expertise to treat even the most complex cases that local providers may not manage.

What causes endometriosis?

Although the precise cause remains unclear, research suggests multiple interacting factors:
Retrograde Menstruation: Menstrual blood flows backward through the fallopian tubes into the pelvic cavity, carrying endometrial cells that implant on other tissues.

    • Genetic Predisposition: A family history of endometriosis significantly increases risk—look out if your mother, sister, or aunt experienced severe menstrual pain.
    • Immune Dysregulation: A weakened immune response may fail to clear displaced endometrial cells, allowing implants to proliferate.
    • Coelomic Metaplasia: Pelvic cells may transform into endometrial-like tissue under certain stimuli.

Recognizing these underlying mechanisms helps us craft a treatment plan targeting both symptoms and root causes—rather than merely masking pain.

Patients from around the world trust our expertise to treat even the most complex cases that local providers may not manage.

Recognize the symptoms early

Early detection drives better outcomes. Persistent symptoms warrant evaluation—even if they seem “normal” for you. Watch for:

  1. Severe Menstrual Cramps
“My cramps felt like someone was repeatedly punching my lower back.”
  2. Chronic Pelvic Pain occurring between periods.
  3. Pain During Intimacy
“I dreaded connection because it always hurt afterward.”
  4. Heavy or Irregular Bleeding that soaks through pads or disrupts sleep.
  5. Bowel & Bladder Discomfort
    – Painful bowel movements, diarrhea, constipation, or frequent urination.
  6. Fertility Challenges
    – Difficulty conceiving despite trying for several months.

Patients from around the world trust our expertise to treat even the most complex cases that local providers may not manage.

How we diagnose—fast & precise

  1. Comprehensive Consultation: We begin by deeply listening—your personal story, pain timeline, menstrual history, and family-planning goals.
    123
  2. Advanced Imaging: Transvaginal ultrasound and high-resolution MRI reveal endometriomas and deep infiltrating lesions that might be missed on routine scans.
    123
  3. Gold-Standard Laparoscopy: A minimally invasive “keyhole” surgery allows direct visualization, biopsy, and RADICAL removal of lesions in the same procedure, reducing recovery time and providing immediate relief.

Your personalized & multidisciplinary treatment pathway

We personalize every step — whether you are local or traveling from overseas.
Our team coordinates closely with international patients to minimize travel stays and ensure fast, streamlined care.
No two people—and no two diagnoses—are exactly the same. That’s why we take the time to understand your stage, your goals, and your vision for the future, including fertility and quality of life. You are not a case—you are a person. And your care plan will reflect that.

Nutrition & lifestyle tips

An anti-inflammatory lifestyle enhances treatment success:

  • Anti-Inflammatory Diet: Emphasize omega-3 rich foods (salmon, flaxseed), antioxidants (berries, leafy greens), and minimize processed sugars and red meats.
  • Gentle Exercise: Yoga, swimming, and walking promote pelvic circulation and reduce muscle tension.
  • Stress Management: Daily meditation, guided breathwork, or support groups to lower cortisol and pain perception.

Small, incremental changes lead to lasting relief and improved quality of life.
